Ingredients:

  • 1 kilogram anchovies
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 Turkish tea glass sunflower oil (approximately 50 ml)

Instructions:

  1. Clean the anchovies by removing their heads and bones. Rinse the anchovies under cold water and drain them thoroughly.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cornmeal and salt. Add the anchovies and toss to coat all surfaces evenly.
  3. Pour half of the oil into the bottom of a medium-sized baking dish and spread it around.
  4. Roll each anchovy individually and place them in the baking dish without leaving any gaps. Drizzle the remaining oil over the top.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees Celsius (392 degrees Fahrenheit) until the tops are golden brown and crispy.
