Ingredients:

For the Pudding:

  • 125 g butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 liter milk
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar (or 2 tsp vanilla extract)

For the Topping:

  • Cinnamon powder

Instructions:

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat.
  2. Add the flour and toast until it releases its aroma, stirring constantly.
  3. Gradually pour in the milk while whisking to avoid lumps.
  4. Add the sugar and continue to cook, stirring, until the mixture thickens and becomes creamy.
  5. Once it starts to bubble and thicken, remove from heat.
  6. Stir in the vanilla sugar.
  7. For faster cooling, transfer the mixture to a separate bowl and beat with a mixer for about 5 minutes.
  8. Lightly moisten a small square baking dish with water and pour the pudding into it.
  9. Smooth the surface and let it cool to room temperature.
  10. Chill thoroughly in the refrigerator.
  11. Once cold, invert the pudding onto a large serving plate.
  12. To create the decorative pattern, lay thin strips of parchment paper on top in a crisscross fashion.
  13. Generously sprinkle cinnamon over the parchment paper strips.
  14. Carefully remove the parchment paper strips.
  15. Repeat the process by laying parchment paper strips lengthwise, sprinkling more cinnamon, and then carefully removing them.
  16. Your delicious Yalancı Tavukgöğsü is now ready to serve. Enjoy!
